Day 1: Arrive Mumbai
Landing at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, transfer
to hotel for overnight.
Day 2, Mumbai/ Aurangabad
Enjoy a cruise ride to Elephanta caves (listed in UNESCO heritage site), located
on Elephanta Island in the Arabian Sea. These caves are house of various rock-cut
mountains dates back to 6th – 7th centuries A.D. These caves are considered
to be abode of Hindu Lord Shiva.
As you are in the entertainment capital of India make a trip to Bollywood in
the city of dreams. The world’s second largest film industry only next
to Hollywood is waiting for you. The actors and actresses are worshipped like
gods and goddesses and command a huge fanfare. They enjoy their iconic statuses
and lives in well furnished villas and penthouses on Malabar Hills and Juhu
Beach on the Sea shore. This western cosmopolitan city of India is also commercial
capital of the country
Gateway of India: This massive structure built to commemorate the arrival of
King George V and Queen Mary in 1911; the architect of this building is a unique
blend of local and Gujrati Muslim style. Have a short ride to airport, to board
the Aurangabad bound flight.
Transfer to hotel for overnight.
Day 3: Aurangabad
After taking breakfast make a trip of 29 km (18miles) to visit the Ellora Caves
locally known as ‘Verul Leni’, located in the northwest of Aurangabad
and listed as the world heritage site. These caves hewn in the west-facing rocks
are related to the Mahayana wing of Budhism. But Budhism is not the only religion
represented by these caves.The cave number 13 to 29 is related to Hindu religion
with Kailash temple in the cave number 16.The cave number 16 is also known for
being the largest rock cut monolith structure in the world. The cave number
30 to 34 is related to the Jain religion.
The Ellora caves were painted, but now all the paint has washed away.
In the afternoon steal some moments to visit Khuldabad and have a rare view
of water-wheel (Panchakki), also see the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s mausoleum.
Bibi ka Rauza, the tomb of Aurangzeb’s Queen is built by his son. This
structure appears to be a cheap copy of the monument of love; Taj Mahal.
Check into the hotel for overnight.
Day 4: Aurangabad/Ajanta Caves
After taking breakfast have a day long visit to Ajanta Caves (109 km or 68 miles)
from Aurangabad. These caves listed as the UNESCO world site are hewn in a horseshoe
ravine in a steep rock near the main current of Waghora River. Out of 29 caves
8 caves are incomplete. These caves were used as Buddhist Chaityas, prayer halls
or Viharas and the residential monasteries. These caves were sculpted delicately
and adorned with finely sculpted statue. Some of these caves were even painted
by the Budhist Monks who inhabited this place. These caves were rediscovered
by the British Soldiers who had been their for hunting. After visiting this
place of historical importance, return to hotel for overnight.
Day 5: Aurangabad/Udaipur
After taking your breakfast drive to airport to board the flight to Udaipur.
Proceed for sightseeing majestic city of Palace Udaipur. The Udaipur Palace
is built by Maharanas, with jagdish temple at the entrance of the palace.
Visit the Jag Niwas Lake Palace and Jag Mandir Island, riding a boat in the
Lake Pichola.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 6: Udaipur/Jodhpur
As you have visited the main attractions of the city the day before, make a
short trip to airport to board the flight to Jodhpur. After landing at airport,
check into the hotel for overnight.
Day 7: Jodhpur
After breakfast enjoy sightseeing at Mehrengarh Fort on the hilltop and nearby
jaswant Thada Memorial.
Day 8: Jodhpur/Jaisalmer
Take your breakfast in Jodhpur and drive for 6 hours (302km) to reach Jaisalmer.
After checking into a hotel, go for a camel safari, enjoy the local cuisines
sitting on the sand dunes at sunset.. Overnight, in the hotel in Jaisalmer.
Day 9: Jaisalmer
After having breakfast, go for sightseeing at the Jaisalmer Fort and several
ornate Jain Temples. The city is also known as Golden city because there are
so many yellowish sand structures. The illustrious Havelis of Patwon, Salim
Singh and Nathmal, Royal Chattariyan Cenotaph and the Gaddi Sagar Lake are added
attractions.
Check into hotel for overnight.
Day 10: Jaisalmer/Khimser
After having your breakfast, drive for 6 hours (302 km or 188miles) to Khimser
fort. After consuming your lunch make a trip to the Khimser Fort and nearby
villages.
Day 11: Khimser Fort/Jaipur
Having your breakfast at Khimser, drive for 8 hours (330km or 205 miles) to
Pink city Jaipur
Overnight in hotel.
Day 12: Jaipur/Amber
After breakfast make a trip to Amber Fort. Enjoy an elephant ride to the hilltop
palaces built by Kachchwaha Maharajas, take a savory lunch and visit the city
Palace and see the textile gallery in Mubarak Mahal. Also visit Sarvatobhadra
hall and have a glance over two huge silver urns and Chandramahal courtyard.
Have a glance over Diwan-i- Am art gallery where there is a world illustrious
collection of painting and portraits of royals. In the evening visit the astronomical
observatory of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.
Stay overnight in a cozy hotel in Jaipur
Day 13: Jaipur/Fatehpur Sikri/Agra
After taking your breakfast in the morning, drive for 4 hours to Fatehpur Sikri,
listed as the UNESCO World Heritage site and the abandoned capital of Emperor
Akbar. After sightseeing of endearing forts and complex, visit Jama Masjid and
the white marbled tomb of Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chistie. Drive about an hour
to Agra the city of one of the worlds seven wonders the-Taj Mahal.
Overnight in hotel.
Day 14: Agra
In the early morning go for the sightseeing of the Seven Wonders of the World
the monument of love Taj Mahal. After taking breakfast at the hotel catch a
glimpse into the excellent craftsmanship at a marble factory; here artisans
still work in traditional way using identical hand operated equipments which
their ancestors used while sculpting Taj Mahal more than three century ago.
Go further to the Red Fort of Agra made up of red sandstones by Emperor Akbar
and renovated by Shahajahan. Shahjahan was kept into the prison, during his
last days of life, in his own palace by his grandson Aurangzeb.
After noon onward take a drive of about 4 hours to Delhi India’s capital
city.Overnight in Delhi.
Day 15: Delhi
Take your breakfast and make a trip to Raj Ghat to see the Mahatma Gandhi’s
memorial on the Yamuna (river) bank. Visit red fort and have some beautiful
photographs there, also visit Shahjahns Jama Masjid nearby. While returning,
stop at Chandani Chawk for photography and for some local cuisine. After lunch
in a magnificent restaurant, start exploring the tourist spot of Delhi. Start
with Qutub Minar and go on to visiting other attractions like Humayun’s
Tomb, Bahai’s Lotus Temple and Akshardham temple for photography. Visit
mausoleum of Nizamudin Aulia .Visit the president’s house, prime ministers
office and parliament building and India gate; all these buildings are famous
for their architecture. Fare well dinner in hotel and subsequent transfer to
IGI airport to board the flight back home USA.
