South India has four states - Andhra
Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, each with a distinct identity.
With four major languages, the region has its own cultural traditions of
literature, art, architecture and music. Some of Hinduism's most important
schools of philosophy have had their origin in the far south.

The land is dominated by green jungles, palm fringed beaches, rolling hills,
tea gardens and paddy fields, stretching from some of the highest mountains
of the Western Ghats to the coastal plain.
