Village-Milan Glacier-Barfu Village-Bogdyar-Lilam-Munsiyari
Day 1: Munsiyari-Lilam (1852mts/ 5hrs)
We began our 16 km trek to Lilam from Munsiyari -the place of snows. Night halt
at Lilam.
Day 2: Lilam - Bogdyar. (2450mts /5 hrs)
From Lilam, we begin our 16km trek to Bogdyar. Night halt at Bogdyar
Day 3: Bogdyar – Rilkot (3200mts/4 hrs)
Leave Bogdyar for Rilkot which is a 12 km trek through picturesque surroundings.
Enroute we can divert to the Laspa village and further to northern glacier
of Nandakot Rilkot village situated above the river and visit ruins of old
Rilkot .Night halt Rilkot.
Day 4: Rilkot - Milam Village. (3434mts/ 5hrs)
After breakfast, we trek 15 km to Milam Village (11,200 feet) from Rilkot.
On the way we can see the Martoli peak, the Eastern and main peaks of Nanda
Devi Sanctuary and the Har Deval peak. We halt for the night at the village.
Day 5: Milam Glacier
Early morning we trek 3km through scenic surrounding to the Milam Glacier. The
glacier originates from the slope of Kohli and Trishul peaks and acts as the
source of the Gori Ganga River which, originates from the south of Milam Glacier.
We return to the village in the afternoon/evening and halt for the night at
the village.
Day 6: Milam Village - Barfu Village
We trek 8 km. to Barfu village. Spend the day with the locals and halt for
the night.
Day 7: Barfu Village - Bogdyar.
From Barfu, we trek 19 km to Bogdyar where we halt for the night.
Day 8: Bogdyar - Lilam
From Bogdyar, we trek back 16 km to Lilam and halt.
Day 9: Lilam - Munsiyari
We begin our final 16km trek from Lilam to Munsiyari. Night halt at Munsiyari.
Legend has it that the setting sun reflecting off these peaks, as viewed from
Munsiyari, represents the last meal cooked by the Pandavas, heroes of the Indian
epic-Mahabharata, before they ascended to heaven. The five peaks of the group
represent their Chulas or cooking hearths, hence the name Panchchuli.
