Day 1-2: Kochi Arrive
via flight to Kochi from Mumbai, from where you shall be assisted and transferred to a hotel in Kochi.
Kochi is an important trading center for spices, also called the "Queen of the Arabian sea." To make the optimum utilization of your stay in Kochi we shall guide you to Syro-Malabar Church one of the 22 Suiiuris Eastern Catholic Churches and the St.Antony's shrine at Kaloor. Also visit the historic Vasco da Gama Square to taste some delicious seafood. The famous Kochi carnival celebrated at the fort Kochi during the last ten days of December is quite alluring. In the evening you can relish the Kochi cuisines that characterized by the abundance of coconut and spices with Kathakali dance performance.
Following day we shall visit the ancient Mattancherry (Dutch) Palace and the Hill Palace famous for the beautiful paintings patronized by Maharajas of Kochi who themselves were scholars in various epics and encouraged art. The amazing Chinese fishing nets operating on the principles of physics is another attraction. Take back some Handicraft items as souvenirs available in wide selections. Rosewood carved items like Lamp stands, Bookends, or ecological sensitive items made of coconut shell like the hookahs, power box, lampshades made of bamboo are among the few options.
Day 3: Marari
Start your day relaxing on the pristine beach of Marari, shinning with incessant waves, which will slide the sand beneath your feet and the incandescent sunshine that will touch your soul. With a complete relaxing intention, you can indulge in some water sports or simply lay on sand for healing sunbath.
Day 4: Periyar
Arrive at Periyar is an ultimate destination to explore the Kumily spice market, rubber plantations and boat cruise through the world famous wildlife sanctuary. The Periyar tour will certainly indulge you in some spicy encounters.
The Kumily spice market is the hub of exotic spices; fine silk, handloom fabrics rosewood and sandalwood items. Trekking through the jungles of Kumily, or cycling on the hilly territories are some other recreation activities one can indulge in.
Day 5:
Periyar- Kottayam
We will begin an unsullied morning drive to Kottayam 120 km away from Periyar, On arrival we shall switch on to the House Boat and sail along the subtle backwaters which will sway us through the paddy fields, authentic villages and markets. Charismatic dance form of this region, which includes the traditional Margamkali dance- a fine combination of group dance and martial arts will leave you, dazed.
The oldest mosque of India, which is 1000 year old, the Thazhathangady Juma Masjid is another forte of Kottayam.
Day 6-7 :
Alleppey- Kovalam
As we arrive the "Venice of the East" Alleppey, expect some amazing water streams perfect for boat rides. Other places to visit are the splendid temples like the Chettikulangara Kumbabharani, famous for huge magnificent temple chariots. Snake boat race is the most popular traditional sport worth watching.
Following day we shall visit the beach town- Kovalam, 13 km downtown from Trivandrum once popular for hippy idyll and relax while you indulge the ancient Ayurvedic massage. The serenity and beauty is mesmerizing. Enjoy the seafood here especially the Lobsters and King prawns. Also the cashew plantation along the coastal belt will be worth exploring. Day 8:
Kovalam- Trivandrum -
Mumbai
- Depart: We shall base at Trivandrum for a day to relax and do some last minute shopping before your departure to Mumbai
